Go camping in B.C.

Has the winter weather got you down? Don’t worry, because we are just a few months away from camping season, and that means taking advantage of the beauty and wonder that British Columbia has to offer. Today we will share with you some of the top spots to go camping in B.C.

Goldstream Park — Victoria, B.C.

Although it is located just 16 km northwest of Victoria, Goldstream Park provides one of the most peaceful settings in all of B.C. With massive trees, waterfalls, and beautiful scenery throughout, Goldstream is a must-visit.

The park offers several different types of camping, from vehicle camping in the forest to group campsites throughout. While open year round, the park is limited during the winter months, so check the website and plan before coming. A neat feature is the nature house that is open year round, with displays on natural history and a gift shop.

Golden Ears Park — Maple Ridge, B.C.

If you are looking for a combination of shores, mountains and wooded areas all in one, Golden Ears Park is for you. For water enthusiasts, you can kayak down Alouette Lake. For outdoor adventurers, you can take a mountain bike ride or hike on one of the numerous trails. Golden Ears also offers three large campgrounds accessible to vehicles.

Gulf Islands National Park — Sidney, B.C.

Surely we can’t pass up mentioning the park right by Triangle RV Centre. The park is located on Sidney Island and is accessible by a walk-on ferry. It features boating, cycling, hiking, geocaching, kayaking and more. Camping, group camping and picnicking are all available.

Garibaldi Park — Squamish, B.C.

Often called one of the most beautiful places to see in North America, Garibaldi Park is located approximately 70 km north of Vancouver in the heart of the Coast Mountains. The park features around 90 km of well-marked trails. Camping in Garibaldi is permitted in designated campsites only — mostly backcountry camping, but there are also several huts and cabins along the way.
