Bucket List Camping Spots to Take the RV in Canada

Three bucket list camping spots to take the RV in Canada

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. With more lakes than the rest of the world combined, some of the world’s most iconic scenery — Niagara Falls, the Rockies, the Arctic, the Great Lakes — and around 7% of the world’s renewable fresh water, it is no wonder that RVers and outdoor fanatics travel the country by the millions every year.

If you’re planning your next getaway, consider one of the following places to take your friends and family.

Banff National Park, Alberta

Established in 1885, Banff National Park is Canada’s very first national park. Known for its breathtaking views in every direction, there is unlimited adventure to be found. Just 80 miles west of Calgary, you can find numerous glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferous forests, alpine landscapes, and plentiful wildlife. Banff has it all, from white water rafting to canoeing along the emerald waters of Lake Louise, to relaxing in the Banff upper hot springs.

Mount Robson Provincial Park, B.C.

This park has been described as “one of the world’s crown jewels”. Mount Robson Provincial Park is named after the gigantic peak that guards the park’s western entrance. At 3,954 metres, Mount Robson is the largest peak in the Canadian Rockies. The main event for this park is the Berg Lake Trail — a world-class destination, so plan your trip accordingly. You’re about to traverse 23 kilometres and pass through three biogeoclimatic zones, with seven campgrounds along the trail. And if hiking isn’t your thing, don’t let that stop you from coming to enjoy fishing, canoeing, or wildlife spotting.

Nopiming Provincial Park, Manitoba

Nearing the end of our short list, we have the quiet and tranquil Nopiming Provincial Park, where the northern lights, woodland caribou, wolves, and moose can be spotted as you canoe through the park’s lakes and rivers on the Manitoba–Ontario border. Stay at the Tulabi Falls Campground, the closest campground in the park to Winnipeg and also the most private, with its own beach right on the Bird River canoe route. Bring your fishing pole to catch some walleye, pike and bass in Bird Lake’s many bays.
